Antioxidants are the substances that protect your body cells from the free radicals. These free radicals are formed by the metabolism of the body.

How are free radicals formed?
-Drugs, cigarette smoke and Alcohol
-Exposure to pesticides and pollutants
-Stress
-Refined carbohydrates and sugars
-Processed meats such as sausages, bacon and salami

Diseases related to free radicals
-Atherosclerosis
-Cancer
-Inflammatory joint disease
-Asthma
-Diabetes
-Senile dementia (brain degeneration)

Visible effects of antioxidants on skin
-Help reduce pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles

Intake of antioxidants through food
-Vitamins C and E 
-Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts
-Honey
-Coffee
-Green Tea
